Stage Time - by musicians for musicians

About Stage Time

It's all about getting on stage and performing in front of a live audience.

Stage Time is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to performing musicians in the Bellingham area.

What is Stage Time?

Stage time is literally the in the moment experience that a musician absorbs while performing on stage in front of a live audience. Ttere is no better way to get to the next level for a musician than stage time.

Who is Stage Time?

We are composed of professional musicians who have been through the never ending ups and downs of making a living with music for decades. We think our experiences help us understand ways to help younger musicians move forward in their careers. In addition, we understand the gig environment in the Bellingham area and are determined to make the scene even more vibrant than it already is.

We work on three main areas to accomplish these goals.

First, we were all young musicians once, and we all had that first paying gig in front of a live audience. We all had that moment when someone we looked up to said a few words that encouraged us to push harder. We all had the moment when we realized that the practice room is not the same as stage time. It's only when a musician is finally on stage playing in front of a regular crowd of people that they start the life long performance journey.

Through the jam sessions where younger players can play on stage with more seasoned players and clinics and other mentorship opportunities we aim to help people in whatever ways we can on their path to being a pro musician.

Second, we foster community using jam sessions to help build ties not only between musicians who might not otherwise have met, but also to foster connections between musicians and listeners in the community. This leads to more gigs and more diverse music as more and more musicians perform with people outside of their circles of comfort.

Last but not least we use our decades of professional performance and booking experience to help create more places to play in the area and make sure musicians get paid what they deserve.

We actively involve ourselves in getting people on stage and it's more than a goal, it's a journey we are on as well!

Stage Time is a 501(c)(3) non profit dedicated to musicians in the Bellingham area.
Stage Time builds community through events designed to bring musicians and listeners together in a casual environment, supports aspiring musicians through mentorship and stage time opportunities, and helps the musician economy by advocating for and helping to provide fair wages for performances.
Stage Time Donations are Tax Deductible

Donations help us bring in top musicians for jam sessions and clinics, and also give us more weight when advocating for and being involved in fair pay for musicians.

Bellingham Jazz Jam

Bellingham Jazz Jam Session

Join us for a Bellingham Jazz Jam on Sundays from 6-9pm at Boundary Bay Brewery. Boundary Bay is a great spot for listening as well as playing and has always done a lot to support things like this. The Scot Ranney and friends jam session originally ran from 2001 to 2006, and now we are here for the last year of this great establishment.
